This is unusually refined compared to the typical Mazoyères with a similar fresh and layered red berry fruit and intensely earthy nose that is in perfect keeping with the supple and equally silky flavors that exude dry extract which also serves to buffer the firm, dense and solid underlying tannins on the mineral-infused and moderately sauvage finish. This is amazingly intense, powerful and explosive and the mouth coating finish really stains the palate. A remarkable wine but note that only the patient need apply.
