Gaja Sori San Lorenzo 2010

Available in an OWC 6 or loose bottles.

The first of the crus to be bottled individually in 1967, Sorì San Lorenzo embodies the drive behind the vision to craft a single-vineyard Barbaresco. Powerful and austere, the Sorì San Lorenzo demands time to fully realize its potential, but if you can hold off opening your bottle, you'll be rewarded with a towering wine. Concentrated, powerful and masculine, Sorì San Lorenzo is a dense, layered, and utterly swoon-worthy evocation of its terroir. Customarily the most masculine of the three cru Gaja Barbarescos, this is especially true in 2010, when the Sorì San Lorenzo presents a profile of dark brooding fruit, incense, tar, leather, earth and exotic spices. A few years in the cellar and this wine will be a complete knockout.
